What is PiecesOS?
PiecesOS is the local engine that powers Pieces. It runs quietly in the background, handling memory, context, and AI processing on your device. It installs automatically with the Desktop App — no extra setup required.
Is Pieces free?
Yes. Pieces is free for individual use with generous limits. A Pro plan is available for power users who want more storage, cloud backup, and advanced features.
Does Pieces send my data to the cloud?
No. Pieces is local-first by design. Your data stays on your device by default. Cloud features like cross-device sync are optional and always under your control.
Which operating systems are supported?
Pieces supports macOS 12 Monterey or later (Apple Silicon and Intel), Windows 10 version 1809 or later (x64 and ARM64), and Linux (Ubuntu 22.04+ or equivalent via Snap or Flatpak).
Do I need to install PiecesOS separately?
